The dangers of medical tourism and the possible remedies from it

Now a day a lot of people prefers the medical tourism or
health tourism
to get their treatments regarding their numerous health
related problems. But the question of security and reliability comes up almost
every time one decides to go to a foreign country for any health check up.

To become sure of this medical facility, it is advisable to consult
only those foreign hospitals that have the Joint Commission International (JCI)
approval. Some countries also have the approval of International Organization
for Standardization (ISO). Again countries like

Hong Kong have approval of

TRENT, while Canadian hospitals
have recognition of Canadian Council on Health Services Regulation (CCHSA). It
is also advisable to get a thorough research of the medical facilities of that
particular country before commencing the journey.

Even after much research, there are some problems that are faced by
the tourists. A most common problem is that, often the tourists failed to get an
exact designation of the concerned doctors. Thus one must consult various
websites and blogs, where experiences of the medical tourists are written. One
can get very good information from them.

Often the patients incur heavy damages from the imposters. In these
cases, almost no one gets a fair deal because the law of the country of the
patient is not imposed in a visiting country. A lot of problems arise in the
case of cosmetic surgeries. Again the situation worsens if any health related
difficulties arise after the patient reaches his home country.

Sometime, even after taking a long vacation does no good if a
patient after a serious surgery undertakes a long flight back to his native
land. Even sunbathing is dangerous. It is advisable to take as much rest as one
can take in the country where the treatment is going on. The majority of
tourists who go for this treatment are from

USA, UK, Japan, and Europe etc. Many people choose

Thailand

and

India

because these two outsmart everybody in terms of cost, class and competence.

The main reason for the booming medical tourism industry is that
one can have these treatments in a much lower price than their home country. For
example, the famous hospital in

Thailand by the name of

Bumrungrad
Hospital offers a coronary artery bypass in a cost 1/10th of that of
U.S. The infrastructure of the health departments of these countries, the
up-to-date machineries, great facilities as well as highly skilled doctors are
the primary reason of their popularity. They also have the facilities of quick
surgeries in their country, which could have taken the tourist to wait for even
one long year in their native countries. South Africa even has wildlife safaris
along with the treatment packages.

A website by the name of

www.DiscoverMedicalTourism.com
gives a
detailed information about the different medical tourist destination. This
website answers to every type of queries that any people can have in his mind
while planning for a medical tour to an alien country.
